Worthy has given him the freedom to play

and has hardly ever dropped him (though bizarrely twice against the scum!).

As well as liking him, I think it's a case of better the devil you know. If a new manager comes in then Hucks needs to prove himself all over again either as a striker or as a left sided midfielder.

If it's as a left sided midfielder then a new manager may want a more balanced left midielder who's going to defend a bit more. If it's as a striker then there's pressure on him to score goals and outperform Earnie because I can't see those two playign together.

So I think Hucks has it just how he wants it with Worthy at present and will be desperately hoping the rest of the team can pick up from last season - Hucks is always going to play better in a decent team playign attacking football. He relies on service and others moving into space - this is where Earnie will be key.

I think they can play well together if Hucks is on the left - but as a partnership they're too similar.
