are players ever objective enough to judge when they are fit enough to play?
If rooney insists on playing in the group stage, it could ruin our chances of world cup quarter final glory, but i wouldn't be at all surprised if it happened, especially if we lose to paraguay.
Compare it with ashton insisting on playing despite having no idea where he was - it seems players will always overestimate their ability to recover and perform after an injury. Wayne should have been left at home.
