I love the way some people think that this sort of thing

is a uniquely english phenomenon, as if all other nationa are wholly fair and accurate in their assessments of their players.

Look at cricketers in the subcontinent - a couple of poor innings and their best players are getting death threats and effigies of them are burnt in the streets.

Team selections in some countries almost cause riots. The most you get in England is a bit of mild booing and some criticism on message boards.

The onyl thing worse than a Little Englander are those who constantly run down the English and portray all other nations as paragons of virtue when it is patently not the case. If anyting they are even more narrow minded than those seek to criticise.
