'Crouch's success no surprise to Nigel' article from pinkun

He points out that we couldn't afford Crouch and Huckerby which is fair enough, but didn't we have the chance to sign him for 2m after we were promoted and Nigel said that it was too much?
For someone who isn't surprised that Crouch is now playing in the world cup finals, you would think he would have insisted on us finding the cash?
After all, he would only have cost us twice what we paid for Hughes and Etuhu.
