FAO everyone who gave me tips last night - ta very much
Thing is, being a bit on the spontaneous side, I have the daft urge to move immediately. Gladly I've remained aware that this would be a bit on the psychotic side and haven't quit my job.
The actual 'sell and buy' thing is going to be such a prob that it's filed under Plan D at the moment: Plan A is to rent my place out (the mortgage is s**t-cheap) and then rent somewhere wherever I end up, so whatever happens I at least retain title to a property even if it's in Rhyl. And who knows, Rhyl might just become the new In Place during the next 20 years, though I can't see it. I'm currently in a 3-bed semi with garden(ish) front and rear and a sizeable kitchen extension - it was recently wild-guessed at about 80grand, so you can see I'm not too keen on trying to climb back into the insane game which householding is increasingly becoming.
Plan B is to do f**k all and stay where I am, and there isn't a Plan C..... but it's early days.
So it's anywhere but Portsmouth and Reading, then. Yep, I'd heard that Pawpsmff is even rougher than Rhyl, which takes a bit of doing, and I wouldn't go to Reading anyway. Born there, brother-in-law lives there, and he's the only person in the country I'd actually punch without (further) provocation.
Well thanks again everyone and yes, Jack, if you don't mind I will keep you posted. Be a while, though, like I said last night, while my Lynz gets settled in Weymouth. Strewth, though - she's on holiday with hey boyfriend in Tunisia so I haven't seen her for a fortnight and already I'm almost pining. God knows how long it'll take me to get used to not seeing her for two or three months.
