I am sub for John ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Motson this summer. So I am practising my dreary dull FACTS to be spouted at dreary dull Lawro ad infinitum during the summer. For instance - Ted Walcott is the second England player to be named after a Norfolk coastal resort. Even more astonishingly, neither he nor Theo Sheringham have any connection with the eponymous resorts.
Both Ashley Cole and Joe Cole are distantly related to Andrew Cole, all three being cousins, several dozen times removed, of Nat "King" Cole. Even more astonishingly they are all related to Ledley King throuth the female line.
You could write a whole book on England's centre backs. John Terry likes Terry's chocolate oranges. Sol Campbell likes Sol beer. But Rio Ferdinand has never been to Brazil.
Michael Carrick had a family holiday in Falmouth as a boy. Disappointingly for anally-retentive scummers everywhere, his family didn't take the opportunity to visit the Carrick Roads.
Ted Walcott is the youngest player ever to play for England, but Wayne Rooney retains the record as the youngest player ever to control the ball for England.
