maybe he is just trying to keep everyone match fit. at the end of the day (clich?) its whether the team is ready to play come the tournament. Rooney should be forgotten about and only be seen as a bonus addition.

I noticed Brazil played a friendly against one of the Brazilian leagues youth teams last week and promptly won 13-1....nothing like getting your confidence up before the tournament, though having said that Carlos played most of the team likely to start each game.
