Who scanned the crowd on YouTube highlights looking for someone who might not be paying full attention.

Maybe something unexpected happened while he was at the game. Family member/friend/ pet taken ill/ had an accident. Pipe burst, missus found the shed burgled, car broken into, email to say he'd been made redundant, kid in trouble for something. The possibilities are endless.
