I can't actually name a single top team that doesn't play with a positionally aware, high energy disruptive DCM who screens the back four and interrupts opposition attacks. McLean definitely isn't that at all, which was why he was played alongside Skipp for example.

This could be a stroke of genius by Wagner and Webber, and Wagner will come to be seen as the next Klopp, pioneering a new structure where creative players all muck in rotating around central midfield to regain possession and disrupt the counter.

Or, it will look pretty f**king daft for the third season on the bounce.
