As well as forking out ?1.8 million for Ricketts, there was also about ?7-?8 million of bonds they would have had to pay if they'd got promotion, plus several other payments-now Ricketts contract runs out in a years time and the bond payments are no longer applicable in either January or February of next year, whatever, just by going up today, they have "saved" on some ?12 million in costs even before promotion bonuses etc.

My mate is gutted that they lost today- he's just rung from Cardiff- but says they'll now have money for strengthening the squad for next season from Bates and his mates, and will just have to give it another go.
