Strongly suspect he badly wanted to go because he knew he wasn’t going to get game time here - mainly because he can’t play at full back in a back four (ask any Plymouth fan).

We’re not switching to wing backs, and he may not even have been first choice if we did.

Playing as a wide man was an option, but Wagner has never tried him there so obviously thinks he’s not suitable for it, or he has better options.

£1m does seem about £500k-£1m too low, but assume we have various clauses.
