Sadly someone is reported missing every 90 seconds in the UK.
Many missing people simply disappear due to a variety of factors. The willingness of families and friends to use publicity as a means to draw attention to the missing person will be a big influence on the extent of the coverage. Age and gender will also influence interest levels. Sad reality is that if the media reported all missing people in any kind of detail then channels would be clogged with reports that people would quickly tire of or ignore.
