Maybe. Maybe not.
What I think will happen is a greater consideration of candidates they put forward.
I think part of the problem is a disconnect between MPs (who are nominated by local conservative party associations who have become entirely unrepresentative of the country at large) and the electorate.
I suspect the Conservative party will need to recognise that and by the time of the next but one general election, a shift to a more centrist, more representative body of candidates will emerge.
