A real statement of our decline

No disrespect to Onel but the very fact that the club are making such a big thing of him signing a new contract shows how far we have fallen in a short period of time.
We all love his passion and commitment but let’s be honest he’s a lower/mid end of the championship table player nowadays.
We spent two years not playing him and then sending him on lower to a then average Boro, where he couldn’t get a game, and then to a relegation fight with Birmingham after Boro terminated his loan half a season early. Yet Now we are seeing him as key part of the so called rebuild of the squad. Looks like managed decline to me.
