Technical question about the 'streams'

So I spend part of the year in Norwich and part in Spain. In both locations I have a decent-brand smart TV. I am very grateful for the stream links that are flagged up on matchdays - and I find it easy enough to access them on i-phone or i-pad, but both full size TV's really struggle to access the given link. They can get to the platform/site OK, but I get endless pop-ups or a buffering signal with no access. It's no great hardship to watch on i-pad instead, but I wonder why this happens ?
