all parties.

We got 13m when we needed it to help fund the two promotions, and he’s taken a few seasons at Newcastle but he’s now looking like a genuine premier league player. Ok he’s not going to play for England or anything but he’s certainly a good part of a good premier league squad.

These days 13m is a decent price for someone who eventually comes that good, and we were able to do far more with that money than we would have having him instead of the money during the years it took him to bloom. And if he’s stayed he’s be worth far less now than he was as a hot young talent.

Good business from all concerned.
