Wagner
Really is doing an excellent job.
USAC already posted the table since he came in. (This is nicked directly from his post - User Posted Link Thanks for posting that.)
Speaks for itself in a results business.
But in addition to that:
- displays are now purposeful, and the team looks like it has a plan it buys into and can execute. Never had that under Smith.
- displays are full of energy. We were so lacklustre under Smith.
- he plays players in their best positions much much more. No strikers on the wing.
- he’s got a whole bunch of players playing their best football for a long time, and is generally seems to be making a lot of players better. Under Smith I can’t think of a single player about whom I would have said “they’re playing their best football”. Maybe Idah under that brief spell shortly after he took over.
Sure, we’ve had a few crap performances (Wigan) but not many.
Put all that, and for me it’s pretty clear he’s doing an excellent job. If only we had been more decisive and got him in during the WC. Smith and Shakey wasted that whole period.
