PM: BWOD - feeling similarly regards attachment/engagemen t, gave up my ST in 2007 though
Still went to about 20ish games a season (mix of home and away) since giving up ST but much more of a pain sitting where I prefer (Barclay lower) in last 10 years.
Since the Pandemic, my games have dropped right off; 1 game in the 20/21 season (only possible to attend about 3 anyway) and since then about 6 per season but only 4 so far this term.
Whilst being a distance away comes with cost; £30+ ticket, £70 fuel (370 mile round trip to CR) plus about £20 for parking, drink and a bite it's the 12 hours or more (0830am leave and 2100 back) that is the real killer and in the last few years I have lost my mojo to grin and bear it... even though I've enjoyed a few good days out.
Perhaps the Pandemic and being able to watch every game in comfort has made an unconscious shift? The club hasn't helped itself and the deansmith period certainly made it tough.
If I was closer (and maybe we'll retire to Norfolk) then I would like to get a ST again, but I'm happy going when I want at the moment... bloody part timer! 😀
On The Ball City 💛💚😘x
