I remember talking about Onel Hernandez while watching us v Luton away
And saying to my friend that when Hernandez has been used effectively we get the ball to him in dangerous positions.
That means a combination of building the play up first, ideally dragging the opposition about to create the opening, and then releasing Onel in a decent position. That's how I remember him being effective in 18/19.
Under Smith he was always the back up option when things were inevitably not going well and he became the "out ball" - give it to Hernandez as soon as you can and he would have to try and do everything from 60 yards out like he was f**king prime Eden Hazard.
Not saying he can play as well as he did last night every week but it's so refreshing to see Wagner come in and understand how to use a player like Hernandez immediately, in his very first games
