I'm a huge fan of Dowell

I think the chicken and egg question of whether he should have put in more effort is muddied by his injuries, us changing system between getting promoted and starting in the Prem, and confusion from manager's over how to use him.

Chucking him out wide and with a three line whip to stay there was always a huge waste.

Looking forward to how he'll do in a setup which suits him more and with clear instructions as to his role and remit.

He'll not be a new Emi, or a new Maddison, but he always looked like he'd be the player most likely to provide the creative spark we've been missing, and while we're not going to build a side around him, I do think it's been unfair to judge him on the basis of playing an unfamiliar role in a stuttering system.
