You can't just dismiss the relegation clauses though. They were inserted, as a policy, to offer some financial safeguards, so you original point that we have long expensive contracts doesn't really stand up.

Tzolis and Rashica would also have seen their salaries reduced - and they were punted out as much because they simply hadn't performed to any reasonable standard.
