If Webber believed in what Smith was doing, why didn't he say so?

Why didn't Webber say anything at any stage? Why didn't he at least offer some insight or mitigation regarding the difficulties of this season? Why didn't he try to help save Smith's job? Why didn't he try and explain?

There were two games with anti-Smith chants. TWO! There are clubs where managers get grief for months. Smith gets it for a week and he's sacked.

But Webber wishes he could have stayed and says Smith didn't deserve it. He really just wants to have it all ways.

He's strangling the club. He's failing us. Totally failing.
