E'enin all.....FAO Jono and Brando

Jono - as you may've spotted in a later post, I was actually just looking for mischief last night. I did think Mr. d0thingy was going to bite but sadly he wimped out, so I went out for a bit. Shame, really, 'cos that was winnable for him.

Anyway, Coldplay again - though I don't like them, I don't find them terribly annoying, and the bloke's social status is of no interest to me whatsoever. I do applaud his support for Fair Trade but know so little about him that I don't know if he's consistent.

I do stand by the 'dreary and insipid', though, and also by my argument that this is fact and not opinion. The songs ARE. That doesn't necessarily mean they're *bad*, nor that nobody should be allowed to like them - but insipid is insipid: Coventry is dull regardless of how much someone might like living there.

OK OK I accept I should backtrack from that because I admit that I haven't heard the recent album, nor more than half of the one before it. Granted, I may be wrong, fair play. My defence is that if you've seen a ginger midfielder shuffling around the field twenty times, you wouldn't expect him to suddenly become a flying winger - but you're right, and I withdraw the comment.

The first album, though, *was* heavily acclaimed - and I did listen to the first few songs and enough seconds of the rest to decide that I didn't want to hear any more of it.

Fact is, everyone should like whatever the hell they like and not be judged for it. Me, I like pretty much everything, to a point, (except the classical stuff) *so long as* the band/performer sounds genuine. My hackles only rise when hearing the massively self-impressed (bearing in mind that all musos should be *fairly* self-impressed), so someone like, say, Damien Rice will piss me off hugely, regardless of the music..... and I'm always ready to be surprised. I do suspect Mr. Martin of the same offence, but haven't yet made up my mind fully.

Brando - I watched a lot of that Razorlight concert on C4 last night. Still can't say I'm a fan, but big clappies to them for putting on a good show.

Now then - been a hell of a week, so I'm going to get outside a vast meal of pizza and rice and then I'm going to copy my garden and become heavily weeded.

Have a top evening everybody.
