not much understanding required, really

just enjoy:
- sunshine glinting off all that lovely grass
- the click of ball flying off the middle of the bat - the best sound in sport
- the effortlessness of the above happening - particularly when a fast bowler has run in 30 yards as fast as he can, the batsman appears to be applying the minimum of effort, and yet the balls shoots off back past the bowler even more quickly than it arrived
- the tv commentary - and in particular the lack of it. One of the few sports where the pundits manage to keep their thoughts to themselves for minutes at a time
(unless you're actually at the ground - in which case, just enjoy the background murmur of the crowd, and of course the beer....)
