5.5m Euros for Rashica. What say the wrath? Deal, or no deal....
Galatasaray are willing to spend 5.5 million Euros to turn Milot Rashica’s loan move from Norwich City into a permanent deal.
Reporter Nezvat Dindar, who works on Turkish newspaper Milliyet, says that Galatasaray are working on a deal after a string of fine performances from the Kosovan in recent weeks.
Rashica, who joined City for around £8.8m from Werder Bremen in 2021, endured a difficult start with Gala before scoring twice in a 7-0 Turkish Cup win over Kastamonu. The 26-year-old then impressed at the weekend, playing a key role in the 2-1 derby win over Besiktas as Mauro Icardi’s double gave his side victory.
Rashica joined the Super Lig giants in the summer after failing to make his mark with the Canaries in the Premier League. He then found himself out of favour at the start of the season in the Championship under Dean Smith, prompting a temporary move.
Gala coach Okan Buruk has reportedly told the club hierarchy to explore the option of turning his loan into a permanent move. City are understood to be open to a deal being struck but are likely to drive a hard bargain given Rashica’s contract at Carrow Road runs until the summer of 2025.
City boss Dean Smith was asked about Rashica’s future earlier this month but the former Aston Villa boss insists no talks have taken place.
When asked about reports Galatasaray want to sign Rashica permanently, Smith said: “Nothing that we're looking to do at the moment, and nothing that we've spoken about since he went out there to be honest.”
Smith has always maintained the door is open for loanees like Rashica to come back and have futures at Norwich.
Rashica was part of a big recruitment drive upon promotion to the Premier League in 2021 but failed to recapture the form that saw some of Europe’s top clubs court his signature whilst he was at Werder Bremen.
Rashica made 35 appearances for City in the last campaign, scoring twice, as the Canaries finished bottom of the Premier League.
