It’s a bloody mess isn’t it?
And people were calling out the mess at the top of the club long before this little spell. Startling lack of checks and balances and accountability. It does feel like it’s all coming home to roost.
The Webber’s (Stu really) have now taken a long string of really poor football decisions without any good ones to offset it, undoing the string to great decisions that got us out of the doldrums in the first place. So much money has been wasted. We don’t need to list it all out again.
If you were Attanasio looking on, I do wonder if you might already be writing off your 10m and thinking about how to get out again. Once we fail to get up, we’re going to be in need of drastic surgery, without any money to perform that surgery. Will he really want to be the one financing the bounce back? Doubt it.
This season really is brewing up to be a total car crash. The worry now is that results will turn up just enough to keep Smith in a job for the rest of the month of longer. But the truth is, currently, we’re miles off.
