You didn't have to enter a mahoosive ticket lottery months in advance
You didn't have to sell a kidney to afford match tickets
You could even make a snap decision, take the train south and buy a ticket from a little hut in a car park the day before KO.

Plus the WC was mysterious. Your eyes could be opened to new players, managers, characters.
The www has taken much of that away.

Yes, much of the football was s**t. But that can still be the case.
