depends what stats are used and the context of them

for example - completed passes

Stats will probably say something like:
Hanley completed about 50 passes
Nunez did 5
Onel did 2
Pukki 3

What the stats don't say is that 48 of Hanley's were to Omobamidele or Byram or Krul ( not his fault if that's the instructions and tactics)
Nunez probably tried 25 forward passes of which 20 were defended against.
Pukki had no one up front to pass to and was very rarely given the ball, and he's expected to shoot and he created the goal
of Onel's 3 one led directly to the goal. and he was on the pitch much mess time.
