2 obvious answers to that

first - it's not that anyone's desperate for him to leave - it's that we suspect he wants to go. If that's true it's all about getting the right cash for him.

second - as to how good he is. Well he may well be the third best English keeper, but unfortunately that's in part because of the lack of competition. We all know it - there's scarcely an English keeper in the premiership - the few there are are either ahead of Green (Robinson, James) or too old (Martyn).
He hasn't been outstanding for us this year - more like competent.

Therefore if he wants to go, and someone wants to give us lots of cash, we take it.

Not that hard to understand, really. Hope you've grasped it now.
