Come the final, England are holding brazil 0-0 with 15 mins to go, and sven brings rooney on for his first taste of the finals. He promptly puts England 1-0 with his first touch. Brazil throw everything they have at England in search of the equaliser, but greeno is magnificent, and makes a last minute save from ronaldinho, which is later proclaimed as even better than Gordon banks? from pele in 1970. England win the world cup and make-weight robert green is the hero.
Of course, all the media forget what they said about him before, as they sycophantically search him out for interviews.
