pattern of play. They will also try to tell you that without Emi, DF didn’t have a set style of play and a few have developed amnesia and believe Farkeball wasn’t that great after all. In answer, if Smith has got a defined style of play like Farke I’ve yet to consistently see it. Emi was superb and unquestionably we were more successful when he played BUT DF never changed tactics (some believe this was one of his problems, I don’t and it’s not an issue for Guardiola). On the question of Farkeball, I’ve been a regular for over 50 years and a season ticket holder for most and I have never seen my team play football like they did under Farke. It was beautiful and he brought so much to our club.
