This seems such an odd transfer to me...

I saw we were linked with Aaron Ramsay. Then I spotted that it wasn't the Aaron Ramsay currently playing for Nice.

So checked him on whoscored. League 1 Cheltenham town's 24th best player?

Then I looked on Twitter to see how Cheltenham fans rated him. 2 recent examples:

"Ramsay will be a good player but I don’t see him signing again for us. He should go to L2 or National league side & play a guaranteed 40+ league games."

"Very average player for most of the time he was with us. Glimpses of class, but really needs to get mentally and physically stronger."

So we currently have Rashica, Dowell, Cantwell, Sinani, Argos, Sargeant, Springett, Rowe and Martin competing for 2 spots in a 433/4231. Plus we loaned out Tzolis and Placheta.

While injured Byram is covering CB and RB and we look short of holding midfielders?

Don't get me wrong, I hope he immediately improves our team. He is a loan. It wouldn't make sense to develop him ahead of say Rowe or Springett would it? So he would have to be viewed as strengthening the first team squad? Just seems an oddity.
