Norwich City introduce sanctions for the safety of fans
CLUB

Norwich City has introduced a sanction tariff to highlight the expected behaviour of supporters attending games throughout the course of the season.

The club is dedicated to ensuring that Carrow Road can be a home for everyone and a place that all supporters feel safe.

On rare occasions, the club has identified incidents whereby the supporter charter and ground regulations have been broken by individuals displaying behaviour unbefitting of the club and in such cases, a review is held by the Stadium Sanction Panel (SSP).

Over the course of the 2021/22 season, the SSP issued 32 sanctions to fans of varying severity, in the hope of amplifying Norwich City’s mission statement; that Carrow Road is a home for everyone.

These sanctions ranged from written warnings for minor offences, to indefinite bans from attending games for more serious offences, such as abusive or discriminatory behaviour.

In order to provide clarity and transparency for supporters ahead of the new season, we are releasing the club’s new sanction tariff, which will serve as a guideline for the SSP’s decision making across the season.

The club was also proud to be a part of the launch of the FA, Premier League and EFL ‘Love Football. Protect the game’ campaign last week on social media. English football clubs across all leagues united to address the importance of fan behaviour at matches.

We encourage all supporters to help us in driving a welcoming and safe atmosphere at Carrow Road and ask you to continue to report any behaviour that violates the supporter charter.

If you see or hear any discriminatory or anti-social behaviour or any behaviours befitting of a sanction, report it by texting 80011.

The club would like to reiterate that we strive to continue to make Carrow Road a place full of positive noise and hope to hear you all loud and proud for each and every game.
