Suggs...

...gotta make it quick as I'm for a couple of belated lunchtime pints, but...

It's not the Coldplay-are-s**t-no-they're-not stuff that bugs me much, to be honest. Different folks, different strokes innit. I mean, some of the mish-mash s**te that the wannabe-luvvies on here post is, in my humble opinion, embarrassingly bad. But then they like it, just like I like Coldplay, and dare I say it the ill-fated Kylie Goes Indie phase.

The two things that bug me are:

1) "Look at that wailing middle class white boy snob, doesn't he look ridiculous with stupid writing on his hand blah blah" The guy's middle class, so what? It doesn't bother him, why should it bother us? But it does bother us, you just have to look around at society to see hordes of people trying to prove just how middle class they are. Blimey, you even see it on here!
He gets ridiculed for promoting Fair Trade and stuff like that - for me it's an inferiority complex of people who don't like being educated by 'snobs'. Feck me, if the bloke is globally aware, knows his stuff and can articulate himself then I hope my kids have him as an idol, and not Rentafight Gallagher or Crackhead Doherty.

2) (And you're guilty of this I'm afraid) Endless people typecase Coldplay as insipid, indescribably bad etc etc, yet openly admit to not listening to the album, let alone having the privelege to see them live. It's almost like loads of people who desperately wanted to hate the band are suddenly using the third album to come out and slate them. And that applies to tonnes of bands, and not just Coldplay.

That wasn't very quick, after all, was it? Ta-ra.
