Totally agree
In the City here there are 'trendy' wine bars everywhere and it f**ks me off something chronic. I usually avoid them like the plague but occasionally I'm forced into them by work dos. I had to go to one yesterday and it cost me a fiver to get in, then the only drinks they served were cocktails and bottled beers. I avoided the cocktails but the bottles were ?4 each. Once I was served, that is, before then I had to wait while city types ordered complex cocktails with rude names such as 'scream as I f**k you up the arse' or something like that. I then had to stand around listening to people in other parties discussing six-figure bonuses. I mourn the passing of the traditional pub you could go into for a quiet pint, if you can find one in London it's usually full, there are still some people around with taste. Until those pubs go too. It's sad.

- I still regard them as pubs rather than bars, ala Maximo or Ha Ha Bar. nm (n/m) (Other Football) - jimbo, Jun 10, 13:50:19
