you don't read your Observer food magazines etc
Barely a page without someone telling you to eat porridge for breakfast. Mostly about all that slow release of sugars etc, compared with breakfast cereals. So you don't have energy surges and lows, and end up a fat diabetic.
Shame it takes so long to prepare and tastes so rank, though...
