The loans have been my biggest bugbear this season.

Am gobsmacked at how much they've ended up costing, and presume that's down to how late we left setting it all up.

On paper they all added strength and depth in areas we needed. Too often they've been treated as automatic picks when playing our own players (some of whom were already better integrated from last year) would have made more sense.

Gilmour will likely have a decent career, but had entirely the wrong skillset for what we needed.

We've got way too many attacking midfielders without enough end product (altho I think, had there been better tactics and more consistent selection some of them could have bloomed, as it was the constant cycling of players gave no chance for understandings to build)
