Son of a Gunn…relegated Canaries scupper Spurs top four hopes
Angus Gunn saved a 91st minute penalty from Son Heung-Min to deny Spurs a Champions League spot in a frenetic encounter at a packed Carrow Road.
Already relegated Norwich were on the back foot for the best part, with Spurs having 97 shots on target and 93.65% possession.
The result was however marred by a post match pitch invasion by three Norwich fans carrying a banner instructing majority shareholder Delia Smith to write a follow up to her ‘Delia’s Frugal Food’ book and plough the money into buying a centre forward to replace the mercurial Teemu Pukki. The banner seemed overly wordy and must surely have had less impact than intended.
Mascot for the day was Dean aged four whose interests include football and PlayStation.
Norwich City Sporting Director Stuart Webber has said he will step down because oxygen supplies are running low and the base camp bbq is about to start.
