The problem was not having a more fundamental rebuild last season
We should have sold Emi and then build a squad and system more suitable for the prem. We prioritized bouncing back but clearly without a real plan for what we would do. That plan fell apart and now smith is trying to get a tune out of a demoralized Farkeball squad.
Despite all the grumbling I think Smith is a decent guy and given a chance will build a competitive team (power and pace) that would be more likely to stay in the prem
