I haven't really followed the trial, but he seems a bit of a fantasist to me
and I haven't really seen any evidence that he actually knew much about 9/11 - just that he was doing pilot training for no apparent reason. Trying to blame him because he didn't say anything neatly covers up the intelligence failures elsewhere. But judging by his outbursts in court, he's clearly dangerous and needs locking up.
