They beat Liverpool 1-0 on the 23rd (Thu) and then played Coventry on the 26th (Sun) with 4 changes - out went Stevens, Bailey, Gray and Atkins - replaced by Steven, Sharp, Bracewell and Hughes. so, arguably, not that much of a weakened side IF they had turned up.
