but is it odd?

We often make a big thing about how we want our academy players to be 'well grounded' or nice or whatever.

We have bought players for technical skills, and we place a lot of emphasis on stats like 'running around'.

We seem to be keen on making sure we buy players of the 'right' personality type for the squad, and we drum out the trouble makers.

Is it really any wonder that we've ended up with a bunch of 'nice' players that have excelled at beating teams by being technically better players rather than needing to compete by being, well, Burnley?

Maybe if there was a dataset for 'Instances of getting in the attackers face per game' or 'being a khunt' our scouting might be able to pick out some proper 'ard bastards.

We don't even need to go full Burnley / Stoke etc. Just getting back to the Lambert era would be a start.

I'm slightly worried that those who say this squad are good enough to walk the Championship might be right and we won't learn the lessons of this season / have the same imperative to mould the squad in a different direction.
