The Stutes (so named after a former incarnation of the club, Histon Institute) were promoted to the Southern League in the same season as the then-Langney Sports, finishing the highest of the newly-promoted sides in fourth. They matched that the following year, before slipping down to tenth in the season Borough earned the step up to the Dr. Martens Premier Division.
