I’m picking up a hire boat in Jarnac on June 19th

Any recommendations of must visit places.
For Cognac I’ve heard;
It’s beautiful and worth a full day and night there
It’s industrialised and very disappointing.
Nevertheless I will drop in to one of the Cognac Houses. Hennessy or one of the less well known ones do you think?
