Celebrity Encounters
One of my old lifelong friends son is Robert Plants drummer. This is obviously not in Led Zeppelin times. When my mate sadly died nearly five years ago the funeral was at Hempstead Church at Eccles just a a short walk from where our family holiday bungalows were sited. The church was packed when, even in this very rural Norfolk outpost, in walks Robert Plant and takes a seat on his own amongst the congregation. When the very sad service was over he said a few words to "the family" and left. He didn't come to the Wake knowing his presence might detract from the occasion. A proper thoughtful and lovely gent.
