I remember when we were IPOing at my last company, the fact that there were husband and wife founders/maj shareholders raised a few concerns with the NOMADs.

And re the discussions above, this isn't about not wanting a woman on the board, it's about the independence required on a board. If it had been the reversal of the spouses then I'd feel equally uncomfortable.
