Just back from the match . . .

stayed a night in Liverpool expecting extra time and penalties so didn't fancy driving home and getting back at 4 in the morning.
Positives:
Looked bleak after going two down, but looked much more solid second half. We did create three good chances which premier league players should take, especially if we want to stay up.
Byram - looks like our best defensive full back
Zimmermann - great to see him back and looked pretty good given his long lay-off. Even gave us one of his trademark long diagonals to the left wing.
Rupp - often the target from the fans but can pass the ball and put in a big shift. Terrific strike for the goal.
Rowe - looks very interesting and one to nurture for the future.
Tim - back in goal is good to see.
Negatives:
Placehta - how many times did he get offside!! We have so little of the ball and can't give it away so cheaply.
Gilmore - so frustrating, expected great things but is no better with the ball than any current midfielders.
Timu - looks out of touch but does make good runs, if only we had players capable of finding him.
Normann - still not up to the standard we saw before his injury.
We can't keep possession of the ball, especially in midfield. We give the ball away too easily.
Big one on Saturday. Expect to win.
