Is an interesting situation.... are we

paying his wages directly or via Rostov for example? I am not sure how that works. If the latter then I assume we are unable to pay due to sanctions, but we wouldn't be letting the lad go unpaid.

We have a fee agreed if we stay up which isn't very likely but even if that miracle happened, we likely would not be able to pay it anyway unless he becomes the first ever footballer bought with cryptocurrencies. But that would also be rather naughty of us, so I can imagine that we just wouldn't pay it but then his registration would remain with Rostov.

Does he want to go back now? I doubt it.

I wonder whether football transfers actually include a clause about being able to unilaterally void a contract in the event of conflict. If that's the case, I would expect he would break his contract ASAP, and then complete this season with us on a pay-as-you-play dea before deciding his next move as a free agentl, or even leave us for another club immediately since he would no longer be bound by the loan deal.

Must be more players in a similar situation. Anything developed with others yet?
