I’ll try not to butcher this as I’m not medically trained but the endocrinologist gave me this description.
So the delay was linked to the high creatine kinase levels in my body (for me in the brain Ck-bb). The ck levels are high due to damaged cells so the brain goes into a sort of go slow to help protect and heal. As the levels drop the delays goes back to normal in most healthy people.
They believe for me this was more likely due to a really nasty virus I contracted without realising right away. This virus (not well known - I don’t know what it’s called) basically dropped my white blood cell count to almost a quarter of what it should be. That coupled with the big day out and all the water they said I was incredibly lucky to still be alive. They said it’s purely down to me being so fit and healthy right now and also a side order of luck.
I’m very fortunate to just be here, let alone be doing so well already. Still a long way to go though.
