Doesn't work like that on my phone

I have to share to something - WhatsApp, Mail etc. So I do that then just cut to clipboard from a blank message and delete the blank message. Would be nice just to copy direct ro clipboard though. This is on an iPhone, can't remember which one I have now but it's not the latest or greatest.
